Booking Procedure

 

What Time?

You can bench your birds on Sunday 14th July 2019, between 7:00 am and 9:00 am. 

Strictly no late entries.

Secured bird storage is available on Saturday night at venue. Birds are to be delivered on Saturday 13th July between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm. At time of placing birds into storage, you will be required to PAY your SALE ENTRY FEE

Please contact the bird sale organiser to discuss overnight storage

PLEASE NOTE: There is plenty of parking available at our venue. Bird sellers will be required to park in the designated areas as directed by a P.S.O.A (NSW) member.

Entrance Fees

$3.00 entry per seller (maximum one seller & one helper)

A charge of $1.00 per bird. Minimum sale charge is $10.00. Strictly cash only.

No Pre-Booked tables, First in-Best dressed,

What information details do I require?

In order to sell at Parrot Society of Australia (NSW) Inc Bird Sale you need to be a current member of a bird club, which is insured with The Canary and Caged bird Federation. (This is for insurance reasons). Your registration number to your bird society will need to be provided on the day.

Please note: Not all Clubs are insured with The Canary and Caged Bird Federation. Please check with YOUR clubs membership steward for further details.

If you are not a member of any bird club, Parrot Society of Australia (NSW) memberships are available to cover you for the Bird Sale and all future bird sales until June 2020.

Bird sellers form/s will be available on the day. This form needs to be completed with ALL of your details prior to your ENTRY at the sale. It will include:

  • Your Name, Address and Contact details,

  • The Club or Society you are affiliated with and their contact details, (If you are not a member of a club, you will be asked to join The Parrot Society of Australia (NSW) before entry to the event as a Bird Seller.)

  • Number of cages and birds being benched,

  • You NSW National Parks and Wildlife license information if you are selling licensed birds.

PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU BRING THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTATION WITH YOU TO THE SALE.

Sale Cages / Displays

As outlined in NSW Bird Sale Voluntary Code of Practice.

  • Cages and Displays are to be clean.

  • Overcrowding of cage is not permitted. The stewards decision is final.

  • No sale of unweaned parrots permitted.

  • The owner will be responsible in ensuring that their birds have sufficient food and water at all times.

  • Wire fronted cardboard boxes; airfreight boxes and carry cages will not be used.

  • All birds must be displayed in display/show type cages/boxes.

  • All cages/boxes must have a solid base / tray (to prevent droppings and scraps from falling onto table area).

  • Shell grit is not permitted in cages within the venue.

 

What birds can I bring to sell?
  • All birds must be sold according to the NSW Bird Sale Voluntary Code of Practice.

  • Australian Native Parrots and Finches

  • Exotic Parrots and Finches

  • ​

What birds can't I bring to sell?
  • NO PIGEONS

  • NO DOVES

  • NO QUAIL

  • NO POULTRY


Exemptions include:
  • Exemptions small doves weighing only 23 to 32 grams and a length of 193 to 213 mm (full grown).

  • King Quail weighing only 30 to 40 grams and a length of 100 to 130 mm (full grown).

  • Please note we will allow only the exempt birds in the venue on the day of the sale. Refusal may offend.

After Benching
  • Benching of birds is from 7:00 - 9:00 am on the day of the sale.

  • Once birds are benched we do ask that all sellers leave the seller area at 9:30 am.

  • Please ensure you carry and display your name tag or wristband as supplied so you can re-enter the sale when instructed to do so.
